I am responsible for the gathering and design of specifications to ensure the successful delivery of business requirements. I interact with business sponsors in New York, other BA’s in London and technologists in Glasgow. I also have working relationships with a number of 3rd party vendors.
I previously worked in London for UBS Investment Bank as a Business Analyst in Equities e-commerce. With my husband originally from Scotland, we were looking to relocate. I knew that the ETC existed and periodically used the company website to keep track changes in the ETC and job opportunities in Glasgow. When the appropriate position came up I applied for my current role.
First impressions of the ETC?
The central location of the offices is beneficial for commuting and access to many shops/restaurants etc.
Did you relocate? If so, where from?
I relocated from London to work at the ETC.
How do you ‘make a difference’ in your work?
As a business analyst, I have the opportunity to examine current business processes, allowing the possibility for both technology and business improvement.
Where do you commute from?
I live in Prestwick and travel to work by train. It takes around 45 minutes to make the 35mile journey. This is compared to the 50 minutes it took to travel 7 miles by train when I commuted to work in London.
Are there outside activities/pursuits you can do now you are in the ETC and couldn’t do before?
With such a wide variety of courses all close to home, I have taken up golf since moving to Scotland.
