What is the culture within the European Technology Centre?
We have a diverse and dynamic workforce who enjoy challenge and thrive to be the best in their field. The working environment is busy, challenging and rewarding. We wanted to create an environment more conducive to technical professionals when we designed our offices and we were keen that they didn't resemble the typical office of a banking organisation. With vibrant colours and interesting design features throughout the European Technology Centre offices we have successfully created an environment within which our employees enjoy working. We have 'break out' rooms with pool tables and games consoles as well as internal coffee bars giving our employees areas they can relax within the building. Our dress code is casual and the overall atmosphere is friendly and welcoming.
What are the career progression opportunities within JPMorgan/ETC?
Employees are encouraged to be proactive with their career planning. Your line managers help plan and support course of your career. With the continual growth of the Glasgow office new career progression opportunities arise regularly. We are also committed to a mobility policy which allows employees to move between teams, business areas and geographical locations 'where' possible.
What kind of training does JPMorgan offer?

I'm keen on working for a company that invests in the local culture and the economy. What is JPMorgan doing in Scotland as regards this?
Community Partnership: Central to our history and culture is the principle of working to improve the communities we serve. In 2005 JPMorgan foundations made financial contributions to the Duke of Edinburgh's Award in both Edinburgh and Glasgow, the Edinburgh based Harmeny School (a grant-aided special school for primary aged pupils with pronounced social, emotional and behavioural difficulties), the Scottish Community Foundation, the Royal Scottish Geographical Society, Fife's Chicken Shed Theatre, and Glasgow's Citizen's Theatre.
In 2004 JPMorgan Chase contributed over $140 million to thousands of not-for-profit organizations around the world and provided more than $3 billion just in community development lending and investing for housing and economic development in low- and moderate-income communities.
As part of our global volunteer initiative 27,500 employees, retirees, friends and family members participated in 1900 volunteer projects. We also work to preserve the environment through policies and initiatives that are guided by our Office of Environmental Affairs.
